If you're lucky enough to be in the mountains, you are lucky enough.

When something bad happens, you have three choices: let it define you, let it destroy you, or let it strengthen you.

Austin has hills.

And in abundance. Who would have guessed? It was a perfect weekend, with lots of sunshine and good times. Need I say more?

I have midterm in Massage Fundamentals tonight. And challenge/bypass in Anatomy a week before Thanksgiving. This weekend I am off to Breitenbush Hot Spring resort for 2 days of practical – on general public, not on friends. Oh, yes, I have friends coming every day of this week too. And I do my exercises. Yes, I do. Portland welcomed Autumn. With rain, what is kind of soppy, yet with fallen yellow and occasional red leaves that make swooshing sound during walks – what is really pretty and soothing.

I have nothing profound to tell you, besides, there are thousands blogs out there these days, with hundreds of them written by ultrarunners – which I am not, right now, at this point. But I am enjoying my life.

I rather live my authentic life imperfectly than somebody else’s one – perfectly.

Allow yourself make mistakes. Be kind to yourself and others.

And if you can – go for a run.

That's why they call that part of Texas the "hill country." Glad you had a good time in the Lone Star State.

Best wishes for your midterm. Send some of that rain this way.

Hmmm I see a running skirt and a pair of trail shoes, are you running again!:) Glad you had a great weekend. Sunshine was in short supply this weekend for us and it looks like for next weekend too. But rain is good, feels great.

Rick: I can vouch that she only ran very carefully for 5 minutes and we hiked the other 2+ hours while on the trail. She was a good devochka (girl)!

Olya: I'm glad you saw green and lots of hills. Maybe too many rocks, considering how excited you got when you saw the small stretches of smooth dirt trail. :) All the best on your test tonight. Enjoy getting naked at Breitenbush. You will always be an ultrarunner in my book. So true about living live and being kind. Regardless of what happens to us, being kind is a very powerful action, not only to others, but to yourself. Great words.

Once an ultrarunner, always an ultrarunner! : )

Can you believe how far behind I am?

Austin is great! The trails and parks are great. Hill country is fantastic.
Loved the picture of the turtles. Gotta be very careful since so many of them bite lite aquatic pitbulls. The ones with the long, pointy noses are snappers.
I hope your studies go well!
